Pointless Button Studios is young and fresh indie game company. We are super passionate about being more than just a diamond in the rough and are on an epic journey to becoming a known pillar in the indie game community. We’re looking for go-getters, midnight oil burners, hard workers and uber creative minds. As a company, we grew from the humble beginnings of 3-day game jam  and realized we have the perfect wow-factor to form a game development business that’s all about creating awesomeness!

The Nuts And Bolts

Our studio is looking to add a 2D Character Artist to our new game production title : Are We In This Together? (AWITT)

The Duties

• Working closely with our team of game designers and developers to bring the game’s vision to life
• Use your artistic creativity to brainstorm concept ideas for making memorable characters with a unique look and personality
• Working closely with environment artists to streamline and maintain a distinctive art style that is truly, one of a kind
• Deliverance of high-quality digital artwork that meets the projects milestones and deadlines
• Ability to fully finish and polish character art pieces from concept, varied poses, multiple states etc
• Possess qualities that make you a great team player who loves working with talented like-minded teammates
• Ability to work confidently and independently on art pieces with a keen eye for following detail and assignment instructions

The Essentials

• Experience creating digital character concepts, preference will be given to those who have worked on game characters, previously
• Strong illustration and concept art skills
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid knowledge of current and next-generation art techniques as well as fundamental art principles, specifically human anatomy
• An active member of the art community with a strong portfolio
• A passion for indie games, the indie game community, with an understanding of game industry trends and an enthusiasm to participate in big global events such as IGF | GDC

Bonus

• Art Degree or Qualification
• Demonstrated proficiency with 2D applications like Abobe Photoshop and Illustrator
