Pointless Button Studios is young and fresh indie game company. We are super passionate about being more than just a diamond in the rough and are on an epic journey to becoming a known pillar in the indie game community. We’re looking for go-getters, midnight oil burners, hard workers and uber creative minds. As a company, we grew from the humble beginnings of 3-day game jam and realised we have the perfect wow-factor to form a game development business that’s all about creating awesomeness!

The Nuts And Bolts

Our studio is looking to add a Story Designer to our new game production title: Are We In This Together? (AWITT)

The Duties

• Working closely with our team of game designers and developers to bring the game’s vision to life
• Use your creativity to brainstorm unique scenarios for multiple situations
• Deliverance of high-quality written pieces that meet the project’s milestones and deadlines
• Possess qualities that make you a great team player who loves working with talented like-minded teammates
• Ability to work confidently and independently on situation pieces with a keen eye for following detail and assignment instructions
• Capable of following set story guidelines and conditions

The Essentials

• Experience creating dynamic short stories that have depth and character
• Be able to take direction, and be prepared to make changes to your work in response to constructive feedback
• Strong imagination that fuels theme based writing
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn the ropes of a content creation writing tool specifically designed for creating story content for AWITT
• A passion for indie games, the indie game community, with an understanding of game industry trends and an enthusiasm to participate in big global events such as IGF | GDC

Bonus

• Experience using Google Docs such as Sheets and Word in a team setting
• An avid game player with a deep interest in creatively advancing the story medium
